I know that many folks will be here because I promised cat photos, and are wanting to see the cuteness. At the time of writing this, we currently have 6 cats (yes, six), and another five cats-in-spirit, who we remember on a daily basis.
Our current feline contingent is comprised of five Norwegian Forest Cats, and one Somali (who thinks he’s a Norwegian Forest Cat). Our eldest is almost 14 years old, and our youngest is 19 months. We are so lucky to share our lives with these amazing purrsonalities, even when they drive us a little bit insane (especially then).
Tundra, our Somali boy, is our eldest — he turns 14 in a few weeks. He’s technically what is called a “fawn-silver” colour, but really just looks like a fuzzy biscuit. He has a habit of looking grouchy these days, but don’t let that fool you: he’s a demanding snuggle-bug.
Freyja is our eldest Norwegian Forest Cat, and she turns 9 soon. A black tortie-and-white, she’s something of a fey creature and only really appears if she is comfortable in your presence. She is most definitely my husband’s cat.
Bodhi is the first of our “new” Norwegian Forest kittens. She will be celebrating her 2nd birthday on Valentine’s Day this year, and is a beautiful black-silver tabby-and-white. She is very regal and inquisitive, and very much my cat.
Marcus is next up! He’s a huge blue-silver tabby-and-white Norwegian Forest Cat, and he’s nine days younger than Bodhi. He’s very long and lithe, but he has massive feet and can be a bit clumsy. Despite his size, he has a very sweet meow.
Maple is our blue tortie smoke and white bicolour Norwegian Forest Cat. She is 19 months old, and alternates between being the sweetest baby you’ve ever seen and a wild destruct-o-bot.
Bramble is our black Norwegian Forest boy, and is Maple’s brother. He has a habit of looking a bit like there are no lights on behind his eyes but he’s a clever soul, and gentle giant to boot. He is also 19 months old.
I will be sharing more about our furkids, and those who came before them, along with photos, in more posts coming soon. I also want to express my thanks to Clara, Sue, and Lee at Nandinakatts, and to Julie at Forestfriend, for entrusting us with your beautiful cats. 🧡
